Food is meant to be enjoyed from "summary" of Food - WTF - Should I Eat? by Mark Hyman

Food is meant to be enjoyed. It's not just fuel for our bodies; it's a source of pleasure, comfort, and connection. When we sit down to a meal, we should savor each bite, enjoying the flavors, textures, and aromas. Food should be a source of joy, not a source of stress or guilt. Unfortunately, many of us have lost touch with the pleasure of eating. We're so busy counting calories, tracking macros, or following the latest fad diet that we forget to actually enjoy our food. We rush through meals, eating on the go or in front of a screen, barely tasting what we're putting in our mouths. But when we don't take the time to savor our food, we miss out on so much. Eating should be a sensory experience – the sight of a beautifully plated dish, the smell of freshly baked bread, the sound of a crisp apple being bitten into, the feel of a ripe peach in your hand. When we slow down and pay attention to these details, we can truly appreciate the pleasure that food can bring. So, next time you sit down to eat, take a moment to really taste what you're putting in your mouth. Chew slowly, savoring each bite. Notice the flavors and textures, the way the food feels in your mouth. Pay attention to how it makes you feel – physically and emotionally. Food is meant to nourish us, not just physically, but emotionally and spiritually as well. Enjoying your food is an essential part of a healthy relationship with eating.
