Real food provides the nutrients our bodies need to thrive from "summary" of The Dorito Effect by Mark Schatzker
Real food is what our bodies have evolved to expect. It is the food that our ancestors consumed for centuries, providing them with the essential nutrients needed for survival. Real food is rich in vitamins, minerals, and other vital compounds that our bodies require to function optimally. In contrast, modern processed foods are often stripped of these essential nutrients and instead loaded with artificial flavors, colors, and preservatives. These artificial additives may make the food taste better, but they do little to nourish our bodies. As a result, we may consume more calories in an attempt to satisfy our nutrient needs, leading to overeating and obesity. When we eat real food, our bodies are able to recognize and utilize the nutrients present. Our cells receive the necessary building blocks to carry out their functions effectively. This leads to better overall health and well-being. Real food helps to regulate our metabolism, support our immune system, and maintain our energy levels throughout the day. Processed foods, on the other hand, can disrupt our body's natural processes. The artificial flavors and additives may trick our taste buds into craving more of these unhealthy foods, leading to a cycle of overconsumption and poor health. These foods can also contribute to inflammation, digestive issues, and other chronic health conditions over time.- We are giving our bodies the nutrients they need to thrive. We are supporting our overall health and well-being, ensuring that our bodies can function at their best. Real food is not just about satisfying hunger; it is about nourishing our bodies and providing them with the essential nutrients required for optimal health.
