Compassion towards ourselves heals our inner wounds from "summary" of Real Happiness by Sharon Salzberg

When we turn our attention inward with a caring and compassionate attitude, we begin to nurture and heal the wounds that have been buried deep within us. It is this compassionate approach towards ourselves that allows us to confront our pain and suffering with kindness and understanding, rather than judgement and harshness. By acknowledging our inner wounds and offering ourselves the same love and compassion we would offer a friend in need, we are able to create a space for healing and transformation to take place within us.
