Respect your fullness and respect your body from "summary" of Intuitive Eating by Evelyn Tribole, M.S., R.D.,Elyse Resch, M.S., R.D., F.A.D.A.

Respecting your fullness means tuning in to the signals your body gives you when you are hungry and when you are satisfied. It involves becoming more mindful of your eating habits and learning to listen to what your body is telling you. This can be a challenging process, especially if you have a history of dieting or restricting your food intake. However, by practicing intuitive eating and paying attention to your body's cues, you can begin to trust yourself to make choices that honor your hunger and fullness. Respecting your body goes hand in hand with respecting your fullness. It means treating your body with kindness and compassion, rather than punishing it for not meeting some arbitrary standard of beauty or thinness. This involves letting go of negative thoughts about your body and embracing the idea that all bodies are good bodies. By accepting and appreciating your body for what it is, you can begin to develop a more positive relationship with food and with yourself. When you respect your fullness and respect your body, you are giving yourself permission to eat when you are hungry and stop when you are satisfied. This can be a radical shift for many people who have been conditioned to ignore their body's signals in favor of external rules or restrictions. However, by practicing intuitive eating and learning to trust yourself, you can begin to break free from the cycle of dieting and deprivation. By honoring your body's needs and treating yourself with kindness, you can cultivate a healthier relationship with food and with yourself.
