Environments are powerful cues that trigger habits, as they provide the context in which our habits operate. When we are in familiar environments, our habits are more likely to be on autopilot, as our brains have learned to associate certain cues with specific routines and rewards. However, when we find ourselves in new environments, our habits are disrupted, as the cues that trigger them are no longer present.
