The prevailing wisdom around what we should eat has become increasingly confusing and contradictory. By consuming these products, we not only harm our bodies but also perpetuate a cycle of dependency on the food industry. Taking back control of our food choices requires a shift in mindset. We must reorient ourselves towards whole, unprocessed foods that are as close to their natural state as possible. This means prioritizing fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins over packaged and processed foods. By doing so, we can nourish our bodies with the nutrients they need to thrive and reduce our reliance on the industrial food system. In order to make informed food choices, we must also educate ourselves about where our food comes from and how it is produced. This means getting to know local farmers and food producers, reading labels, and questioning the marketing tactics used by the food industry. By becoming more discerning consumers, we can vote with our dollars for a food system that prioritizes health and sustainability.
