My life revolves around food from "summary" of Food: A Love Story by Jim Gaffigan

I wake up and I think about breakfast. I go to bed and I think about what I'll eat in the morning. My life revolves around food. But not in some weird, obsessive way. I'm not one of those people who takes pictures of their meals and posts them online. I don't have a food blog. I don't even cook that much. I just love to eat. I've always been a big guy. I was a chubby kid and I'm a chubby adult. I come from a big family, so there was always plenty of food around when I was growing up. My parents weren't gourmet chefs or anything, but they knew how to make a good meal. We didn't eat out a lot, but when we did, it was always a big deal. Going to a restaurant was a special occasion, something to be savored. As I got older, my love of food only grew. I started to travel more and try different kinds of cuisine. I discovered that food was a way to connect with people, to experience different cultures. It wasn't just about sustenance anymore. It was about pleasure, about joy. Now, as a comedian, food plays a big role in my life. When I'm on the road, I always make it a point to seek out the best local eateries. I've eaten barbecue in Texas, seafood in Maine, pizza in New York. Food is a way for me to unwind after a show, to relax and refuel. Some people might think it's strange that my life revolves around food. They might say I have an unhealthy obsession. But I don't see it that way. Food is one of life's great pleasures. It brings people together, it nourishes the body and the soul. And for me, it's a love story that will never end.
