I have an unhealthy relationship with food from "summary" of Food: A Love Story by Jim Gaffigan
I'm not entirely sure what constitutes a "healthy" relationship with food. Is it when you eat only when you're hungry? Is it when you stop eating when you're full? If that's the case, then I definitely have an unhealthy relationship with food. I eat when I'm happy, sad, bored, stressed, or just because. Food is my constant companion, my ever-present friend. And not just any food - we're talking about the good stuff. The kind that makes your taste buds sing and your heart skip a beat. I've been known to drive across town just to get my hands on a particular type of pizza or spend hours in the kitchen perfecting a dish that I saw on a cooking show. Food is not just fuel for me - it's an obsession, a passion, a love affair. But like any tumultuous relationship, my love for food comes with its fair share of issues. I struggle with portion control, with knowing when to say no. I've had my fair share of late-night rendezvous with the refrigerator, eating whatever I can find in a haze of hunger and guilt. I've tried to break free from this cycle, to eat more mindfully, to treat my body with the respect it deserves. But old habits die hard, and I always find myself falling back into old patterns. Food will always be a weakness for me, a temptation that I can never quite resist. So maybe my relationship with food isn't the healthiest. But it's mine, and I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. Food may be my downfall, but it's also my greatest joy. And for now, that's enough for me.Similar Posts
