Habits are powerful forces that shape our behavior. They are the choices that all of us deliberately make at some point, and then stop thinking about but continue doing, often every day. According to neurologists, habits emerge because the brain is constantly looking for ways to save effort. The brain can't tell the difference between bad and good habits, so it works to create habits for any routine that is repeated consistently. This process is known as "chunking," where the brain converts a sequence of actions into an automatic routine. Habits are powerful because they create neurological cravings.
