When anxiety triggers are present, it can feel like they appear out of nowhere, catching us off guard and causing a sudden surge of worry and fear. However, with mindfulness, we can train ourselves to recognize these triggers as they arise, giving us the opportunity to respond in a more intentional and skillful way. By paying attention to our thoughts, emotions, and bodily sensations, we can start to notice patterns and cues that signal the presence of anxiety triggers. One way to become more aware of anxiety triggers is to practice observing our internal experiences without judgment.
