Acceptance brings inner peace from "summary" of The Goose Moon by Caleb Rand

To find inner peace is to accept the circumstances of life as they are, without resistance or denial. It is to come to terms with the reality of the present moment, embracing both the good and the bad without judgment. This acceptance is not a passive surrender, but an active choice to let go of the need to control every aspect of our lives. It is a letting go of the constant need for things to be different than they are, and an opening up to the possibility of finding peace in the midst of chaos. When we resist what is, we create inner conflict and suffering. We create a gap between our expectations and reality, between our desires and what actually exists. This gap is where our unhappiness resides, where our anxiety and stress take root. But when we accept what is, we bridge that gap and find a sense of wholeness and contentment. We find a sense of calm that comes from knowing that we are exactly where we need to be, even if it is not where we want to be. Acceptance is not about giving up or settling for less than we deserve.
