Desserts are my weakness from "summary" of Food: A Love Story by Jim Gaffigan
I have a confession to make. Well, it's not really a confession because it's more of a universally accepted truth. Desserts are my weakness. I know, I know, everyone says that, but I really mean it. I am a grown man who turns into a child at the sight of a chocolate cake or a warm apple pie. It's like all my willpower goes out the window when faced with a sweet treat. I try to resist, I really do. I tell myself that I don't need that second slice of cheesecake or that extra scoop of ice cream. But then I see it sitting there, all sugary and delicious, just begging to be eaten. And before I know it, I've given in to my cravings and devoured the whole thing. It's not just the taste of desserts that I love, although that is a big part of it. It's the way they make me feel. There's something comforting and indulgent about treating yourself to a sweet treat. It's like a little slice of happiness in a world that can sometimes feel overwhelming. Of course, there are consequences to my weakness for desserts. My waistline has definitely suffered over the years, and my dentist is probably not too happy with me either. But in the moment, none of that seems to matter. All that matters is that I am enjoying something that brings me joy. So yes, desserts are my weakness. And I wouldn't have it any other way. Life is short, and if indulging in a sweet treat every now and then brings a smile to my face, then I say bring on the dessert.Similar Posts
