Anxiety reveals the underlying truth of existence from "summary" of Being and Time by Martin Heidegger

Anxiety discloses the truth of existence. It is not just a passing feeling that can be easily dismissed or ignored. Rather, anxiety reveals something fundamental about our being-in-the-world. When we experience anxiety, we are confronted with the nothingness that lies at the heart of our existence. This nothingness is not a lack or absence, but rather an opening up of possibilities. Anxiety reveals to us the fact that we are always already in a state of unease. It is not something that we can simply get rid of or overcome. Instead, anxiety points to the fact that we are always in a state of anticipation, waiting for something to happen. This anticipation is not directed towards any specific event or outcome, but is rather a general sense of being-towards-death. In experiencing anxiety, we come face to face with our own mortality. We realize that we are finite beings, destined to die. This recognition of our finitude is what gives rise to anxiety. It is not a fear of death itself, but rather a fear of the unknown, of what lies beyond death. Anxiety reveals to us the fact that we are thrown into a world that is fundamentally uncertain and unpredictable. Through anxiety, we come to understand the precariousness of our existence. We realize that we are always on the edge of nothingness, teetering on the brink of non-being. This realization can be terrifying, but it can also be liberating. By confronting our anxiety, we can come to accept the fact that our existence is inherently uncertain and unpredictable. Anxiety reveals the truth of our existence by stripping away the illusions and distractions that we use to shield ourselves from the fundamental questions of being. It forces us to confront the fact that we are finite beings, living in a world that is indifferent to our concerns and desires. In this sense, anxiety is not something to be avoided or overcome, but rather embraced as a necessary part of our existence. It is through anxiety that we come to understand the true nature of our being-in-the-world.
