Develop awareness through meditation from "summary" of The Book Of Secrets by Osho

Developing awareness through meditation is not a difficult task. It is simply a matter of understanding the nature of your mind and learning to observe its movements without getting caught up in them. Meditation is not about forcing the mind to be quiet; it is about allowing the mind to be as it is while remaining aware of its activities. When you sit in meditation, you are not trying to achieve anything. You are simply sitting and watching. Whatever thoughts, feelings, or sensations arise, you just watch them come and go. You don't try to hold on to them or push them away. You simply remain a witness to everything that arises in your awareness. Through this process of observation, you begin to see that you are not the mind. You are the one who is aware of the mind. You are the silent watcher behind all the noise of thoughts and emotions. This awareness is your true nature, and as you become more attuned to it, you start to experience a deep sense of peace and contentment. Meditation is not something that you do for a few minutes a day and then forget about. It is a way of life. It is about bringing the same quality of awareness that you cultivate in meditation into every moment of your day. Whether you are eating, walking, working, or interacting with others, you can always be aware of your inner being. This awareness is not something that can be cultivated through effort. It is not a goal that you can strive for. It is simply a natural state of being that is waiting to be discovered within you. Through meditation, you can peel away the layers of conditioning and false identities that have obscured your true nature and come to know yourself as you really are.
