Napping can improve cognitive function from "summary" of Rest by Alex Soojung-Kim Pang

Napping has long been associated with laziness or lack of productivity. However, research has shown that taking a short nap during the day can actually improve cognitive function. In fact, many successful individuals throughout history, such as Thomas Edison and Albert Einstein, were known to take regular naps. Our brains have a limited capacity for focused attention and productivity. By taking a nap, we give our brains a chance to rest and recharge, allowing us to return to our tasks with renewed energy and focus. This is especially important in today's fast-paced world, where we are constantly bombarded with information and stimuli. During sleep, our brains consolidate memories and process information, leading to improved learning and problem-solving abilities. Napping can also help improve mood and creativity, making us more effective at tackling complex tasks and coming up with innovative solutions.
  1. We can improve our overall productivity and well-being. So, next time you feel yourself hitting a mental wall, consider taking a short nap to give your brain the break it needs to perform at its best.
