Alcohol can be a double-edged sword when it comes to heart health. On one hand, moderate alcohol consumption has been associated with some heart-healthy benefits. On the other hand, excessive alcohol intake can wreak havoc on your heart and overall health. It's all about finding the right balance. Drinking alcohol in moderation may have some protective effects on the heart. This means limiting yourself to one drink per day for women and up to two drinks per day for men.
