This can lead to feelings of guilt and shame that are not warranted. Emotional reasoning is a thinking trap where we believe that our emotions are an accurate reflection of reality. This can lead us to make decisions based on our emotions rather than facts, which may not be in our best interest.- We can start to challenge and change them. One way to do this is by gathering evidence to support or refute our negative thoughts. We can also examine the evidence for and against our thoughts to gain a more balanced perspective. By identifying thinking traps and learning to challenge them, we can start to change our negative thought patterns and improve our overall well-being.
