Control your thoughts from "summary" of Meditations by Marcus Aurelius

It is within your power to control your thoughts. Do not let them roam freely without direction or purpose. Just as a skilled horseman controls his steed with a firm hand, so too must you rein in your thoughts and guide them towards virtue and wisdom. When negative or destructive thoughts arise, do not allow them to take root in your mind. Instead, dismiss them like a passing cloud in the sky. Refuse to dwell on them, for this will only give them power over you. Choose instead to focus on thoughts that are positive, constructive, and in alignment with your values. Remember that your thoughts shape your reality. If you allow negative thoughts to dominate your mind, you will inevitably experience suffering and unhappiness. But if you cultivate a habit of positive thinking, you will attract more joy, peace, and fulfillment into your life. Practice mindfulness and self-awareness to become more attuned to your thoughts. Take note of the patterns and tendencies that emerge, and make a conscious effort to redirect your mind towards more productive and uplifting thoughts. With time and practice, you will gain mastery over your inner world and experience a greater sense of control and peace.
  1. The key to controlling your thoughts lies in cultivating a disciplined and vigilant mind. Stay vigilant against the constant barrage of distractions and temptations that seek to derail you from your path. Stay true to your principles and values, and let them guide you in all your thoughts and actions. In this way, you will not only control your thoughts but also shape your destiny according to your own design.
