Endurance is a skill that can be developed from "summary" of Marathon Woman by Kathrine Switzer

Endurance is not something you are born with. It's not a genetic trait that you either have or you don't. Endurance is a skill that can be developed. Just like any other skill, it requires time, effort, and dedication to improve. When I first started running, I had no idea what I was doing. I had never been an athlete, never participated in sports growing up. But I had a goal - to run a marathon. So I started small, with short runs around my neighborhood. I slowly built up my mileage, pushing myself a little further each time. It wasn't easy. There were days when I wanted to give up, when every step felt like a struggle. But I kept going. I learned to listen to my body, to push through the pain and fatigue. I discovered that endurance is as much mental as it is physical. It's about pushing past your limits, about refusing to quit when things get tough. With each run, I felt myself getting stronger. My muscles adapted to the strain, my cardiovascular system became more efficient. I learned to pace myself, to conserve my energy for the long haul. And slowly but surely, I started to see progress. My times improved, my distance increased. I was becoming a runner. But it didn't happen overnight. It took months of hard work and dedication. It took discipline and perseverance. It took a willingness to push myself beyond what I thought was possible. And in the end, it was worth it. I crossed that finish line, exhausted but elated. I had proven to myself that I was capable of more than I ever imagined. Endurance is a skill that can be developed. It's not about being the fastest or the strongest. It's about having the mental fortitude to keep going when others would quit. It's about pushing yourself to be better, to go further than you ever thought possible. And once you learn that skill, you can apply it to any challenge that comes your way. So lace up your shoes, hit the pavement, and start building your endurance. You'll be amazed at what you can achieve.
