Avoid comparison from "summary" of Don't Overthink It by Anne Bogel

When we constantly compare ourselves to others, we set ourselves up for dissatisfaction. It's a slippery slope that leads to feelings of inadequacy and self-doubt. Comparison is a natural human tendency, but it can be detrimental to our mental well-being if we allow it to consume us. In today's world, it's easier than ever to compare ourselves to others. Social media presents us with highlight reels of other people's lives, making it seem like everyone else has it all figured out while we're left floundering in uncertainty. But the truth is, we're only seeing a small, curated glimpse of someone else's reality, not the full picture. When we compare ourselves to others, we're not only doing a disservice to ourselves but also to those we're comparing ourselves to. We're robbing ourselves of the opportunity to appreciate our own unique strengths and accomplishments. Avoiding comparison doesn't mean ignoring the achievements of others or pretending like we don't care about what anyone else is doing. It simply means not letting those comparisons dictate our own sense of self-worth. Instead of getting caught up in comparison, focus on your own journey and celebrate your own victories, no matter how small they may seem. Remember that everyone's path is different, and what works for someone else may not necessarily work for you. By staying true to yourself and your own values, you'll find contentment and fulfillment in your own unique way.
