The pigs in power on Animal Farm understood well the power of propaganda. They used it to control the other animals, to manipulate their thoughts and actions. Squealer, the cleverest of them all, was especially skilled in this art. He would twist the truth, distort facts, and spread lies to serve the pigs' agenda. Through propaganda, the pigs were able to convince the other animals that their rule was for the greater good. They painted a picture of a glorious future where everyone would be equal and happy.
