Embrace challenges as opportunities for growth from "summary" of Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind by Shunryu Suzuki

When you have some difficulty, don't be bothered by it. Just continue in your calm, ordinary practice. In calmness there should be activity. Even though you have problems, you have to continue to live. You have to find out what you should do. Problems always appear and always will. So when you have some problems, you should understand that you are always in the very centre of the world. When you have difficulties, you should be quite calm - difficulties always come and go. Then problems will not be just problems, they will be opportunities for you to understand the truth. The problems you have will eventually help you. The truth is always in you. When you realize something, you will be able to do it even though it is difficult. You cannot do something difficult if you try to do it. When you have some difficulty, forget all about it and do something else. When you cannot do anything, just sit and let things go by. When you are concentrated on what you are doing in this moment, you will do something more, but if you try to do something, you will not be able to do it. You will have a problem. You will look around to see what others are doing, and you will not be concentrated on what you are doing. Do not be bothered about what you have done. If you try to do something, you will be very busy, and you will not be able to do anything. Just to sit and let things go by is very important. You will have a chance to do something more when you are not waiting for the result.
