Embracing mindfulness allows us to fully experience the present moment from "summary" of Zen and the Art of Happiness by Chris Prentiss

When we embrace mindfulness, we are able to bring our full attention to the present moment. This means we are not dwelling on the past or worrying about the future, but instead, we are fully immersed in what is happening right now. By being present in the moment, we are able to fully experience and appreciate everything that is happening around us. Mindfulness allows us to let go of distractions and focus on the beauty of the present moment. When we are mindful, we are able to see things more clearly and appreciate the small details that we may have otherwise overlooked. We are able to fully engage with our surroundings and the people we are with, leading to richer and more fulfilling experiences. By being present in the moment, we are able to fully engage with our emotions and thoughts. We can acknowledge our feelings without judgment and simply observe them as they come and go. This allows us to have a greater understanding of ourselves and our reactions to the world around us. Embracing mindfulness also helps us to cultivate gratitude for the present moment. When we are fully engaged in the here and now, we are able to recognize the blessings we have in our lives. We can appreciate the simple joys and moments of happiness that may have gone unnoticed if our minds were preoccupied with the past or future.
