Embrace impermanence and change from "summary" of You Are Here by Thich Nhat Hanh

Impermanence is a fundamental truth of our existence. Everything is constantly changing and evolving, from the cells in our bodies to the thoughts in our minds. We often resist this reality, clinging to the idea of permanence and stability. But the more we resist change, the more we suffer. When we embrace impermanence, we open ourselves up to a deeper understanding of life. We begin to see that change is not something to be feared, but rather something to be accepted and even celebrated. Impermanence teaches us to let go of our attachments and expectations, freeing us from the burden of holding on to things that are meant to pass. By accepting the impermanent nature of life, we can cultivate a sense of peace and equanimity. We learn to live in the present moment, appreciating the beauty of each fleeting experience. Instead of dwelling on the past or worrying about the future, we learn to be fully present in the here and now. Embracing impermanence also allows us to adapt to the ever-changing circumstances of our lives. When we let go of our attachment to how things should be, we become more flexible and resilient. We are able to flow with the currents of life, rather than resisting them.
  1. Embracing impermanence is a practice of mindfulness. It is about being fully present and aware of the ever-changing nature of reality. When we can embrace impermanence with an open heart and mind, we can find a deep sense of peace and freedom in the midst of life's constant flux.
