Comparing ourselves to others is a natural human tendency. We see what other people have or what they have achieved, and we can't help but measure ourselves against them. However, this constant comparison can be detrimental to our well-being. It can lead to feelings of inadequacy, jealousy, and low self-esteem. When we compare ourselves to others, we are essentially setting ourselves up for failure. We are all unique individuals with our own strengths and weaknesses. Comparing ourselves to someone else is like comparing apples to oranges - it just doesn't make sense.
