Trust can have a significant impact on how fast we can achieve success from "summary" of The Speed of Trust by Stephen M. R. Covey

Trust is not just a nice-to-have concept in our personal and professional lives; it is a crucial element that directly affects the speed at which we can achieve success. When trust is present in a relationship or within an organization, things happen faster and at a lower cost. This is what I refer to as the "speed of trust."When trust is high, communication is clear, direct, and efficient. People are more willing to collaborate, share information, and work towards a common goal. Decisions can be made quickly because there is a strong foundation of trust that allows individuals to rely on each other's judgment and expertise. On the other hand, when trust is low or nonexistent, everything takes longer. Miscommunications lead to misunderstandings, conflicts arise, and decisions get bogged down in unnecessary layers of approval and bureaucracy. People become guarded and hesitant to share their ideas or take risks, which stifles innovation and progress. Trust is like a lubricant that greases the wheels of progress. When trust is high, things run smoothly, and obstacles are easily overcome. But when trust is lacking, every task becomes a struggle, and success seems elusive. To build trust, we must demonstrate integrity, competence, and consistency in our actions. We must be honest, reliable, and accountable for our words and deeds. Trust is not something that can be demanded or forced; it must be earned through our behavior and interactions with others.
  1. The speed at which we can achieve success is directly tied to the level of trust that exists within our relationships and organizations. By cultivating trust, we create an environment where people can work together effectively, make decisions efficiently, and reach their goals faster. Trust is the key that unlocks the door to success.
