Selfawareness is indeed crucial when it comes to breaking bad habits. It is the starting point, the foundation upon which change can be built. Without selfawareness, we are essentially operating on autopilot, allowing our habits to dictate our actions without question. However, when we become aware of our habits, when we shine a light on them and examine them closely, we open the door to change. When we are aware of our habits, we are able to see them for what they truly are – patterns of behavior that we have repeated so often that they have become ingrained in our daily lives. This awareness allows us to step back and observe our habits from a more objective standpoint, rather than simply reacting to them without thought.
