These rules can be arbitrary and oppressive, with little room for negotiation or dissent. Employees are expected to follow these rules without question, or risk facing consequences such as termination or other forms of punishment. The power dynamics in workplaces are often heavily skewed in favor of employers, who hold all the cards when it comes to decision-making. This imbalance of power allows employers to exploit their employees, extracting as much labor as possible while offering little in return. Employees are often expected to work long hours for low pay, with little to no benefits or job security. The lack of democracy in workplaces means that employees have little control over their own lives. They are at the mercy of their employers, who can make decisions that have far-reaching consequences for their well-being. This concentration of power in the hands of a few individuals is reminiscent of a totalitarian regime, where the interests of the ruling class are prioritized over the needs of the workers.
