Transformation requires conscious action from "summary" of Pedagogy of the Oppressed by Paulo Freire
In order for transformation to occur, individuals must actively engage in conscious action. This means being intentional and deliberate in their thoughts, words, and deeds. It requires a level of awareness and mindfulness that goes beyond simply going through the motions or following orders from others. Transformation cannot be passively received; it must be actively pursued. When individuals are passive recipients of knowledge or information, they are not actively participating in their own transformation. They are simply being acted upon by external forces, which may not have their best interests at heart. In order to truly transform, individuals must take ownership of their own learning and growth. They must be actively involved in the process of reflection, critical thinking, and action. Conscious action involves questioning the status quo, challenging dominant narratives, and advocating for change. It requires individuals to disrupt the existing power structures and create new ways of thinking and being. This can be a challenging and uncomfortable process, as it often involves confronting deeply ingrained beliefs and practices. However, it is necessary in order to break free from oppressive systems and create a more just and equitable society. By engaging in conscious action, individuals can begin to see the world in a new light. They can envision a different future and work towards making it a reality. This process of transformation is ongoing and requires constant reflection, adaptation, and action. It is not a one-time event, but a lifelong journey towards liberation and empowerment.- Transformation requires individuals to be actively engaged in the process of change. It cannot be achieved through passive compliance or conformity. By taking conscious action, individuals can become agents of their own liberation and contribute to the collective struggle for justice and equality.
