Overthinking robs joy from the present moment from "summary" of Overthinking by Jon Power

When we allow our minds to wander endlessly, dissecting every detail and possibility, we inadvertently steal the joy that could be found in the present moment. This act of overthinking is like a thief in the night, sneaking in and robbing us of the peace and contentment that could be ours if we simply let go of the need to analyze and control every aspect of our lives. Instead of fully immersing ourselves in the beauty of the present moment, we find ourselves lost in a labyrinth of thoughts and worries, unable to appreciate the simple pleasures that surround us. Our minds become consumed with what-ifs and worst-case scenarios, pulling us further away from the here and now. The more we overthink, the more we distance ourselves from the reality of the present moment.
