Practice radical acceptance of reality from "summary" of Get Out of Your Mind and Into Your Life by Steven Hayes,Spencer Smith

Radical acceptance means fully and completely accepting reality as it is, without trying to change it or make it different. It involves acknowledging the truth of the present moment, even if it is difficult or painful. This concept is about letting go of resistance and learning to embrace life as it unfolds, rather than fighting against it. When we practice radical acceptance, we are not denying or avoiding reality. Instead, we are facing it head-on and allowing ourselves to experience all of the emotions that come with it. This means accepting both the good and the bad, the joy and the sorrow, the success and the failure. It is about being present and open to whatever life brings our way. Radical acceptance is not about giving up or being passive. It is not a resignation to fate or a surrender to suffering. Instead, it is a courageous act of self-compassion and self-awareness. It is a recognition that we cannot control everything that happens to us, but we can control how we respond to it. By practicing radical acceptance, we free ourselves from the burden of trying to change things that are beyond our control. We let go of the struggle and the resistance, and we find peace in the midst of chaos. This does not mean that we stop striving for improvement or working towards our goals. It simply means that we let go of attachment to outcomes and learn to be content with what is. Radical acceptance is a process that takes time and practice. It requires patience and persistence, as well as a willingness to confront our fears and insecurities. It is not always easy, but the rewards are profound. When we accept reality as it is, we open ourselves up to a deeper sense of peace and freedom. We no longer have to fight against the tide; instead, we can flow with it, knowing that we are strong enough to handle whatever comes our way.
