Flow can bring a sense of purpose and meaning from "summary" of Flow by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi

When we experience flow, we enter a state of heightened focus and deep involvement in an activity. In this state, we are fully immersed in what we are doing, and our sense of self fades away as we become one with the task at hand. This intense concentration is not only pleasurable but also brings a sense of purpose and meaning to our lives. Flow occurs when we are faced with a challenge that is well matched to our skills. When the challenge is too easy, we may become bored and disengaged. On the other hand, when the challenge is too difficult, we may feel anxious and overwhelmed. But when the challenge is just right, we enter a state of flow where our skills are stretched to the fullest, and we are able to rise to the occasion. In flow, we are able to set clear goals and receive immediate feedback on our progress. This feedback helps us adjust our actions and stay on track towards our objectives. As a result, we feel a deep sense of purpose as we work towards accomplishing our goals. This sense of purpose gives our lives direction and meaning, helping us to transcend the mundane and connect with something larger than ourselves. Flow also allows us to experience a sense of mastery and personal growth. As we engage in challenging activities that stretch our abilities, we are able to develop new skills and overcome obstacles. This process of continuous learning and improvement not only boosts our self-esteem but also gives us a sense of fulfillment and satisfaction.
