Flow can be experienced in work or leisure activities from "summary" of Flow (Edição revista e atualizada) by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi
Flow can be experienced in work or leisure activities. Many people assume that flow is only possible during leisure time - when we engage in hobbies or recreational pursuits that bring us joy and relaxation. However, this is not the case. Flow can also be achieved in the context of work. When we are deeply engaged in a task that challenges us and requires our full attention, we can enter a state of flow regardless of whether we are at work or at play. In fact, some people are able to experience flow more frequently in their work than in their leisure activities. This is because flow is not dependent on the specific activity we are engaged in, but rather on the level of challenge and skill required by that activity. When the demands of a task match our abilities, we are more likely to experience flow, whether we are working on a project at the office or playing a sport on the weekends. It is important to note that flow is not limited to any particular type of work or leisure activity. People can experience flow in a wide range of pursuits, from painting and playing music to solving complex mathematical problems and designing software. The key is to find activities that are challenging enough to engage our skills and provide us with a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction.- We can strive to create more opportunities for flow in our daily lives. Whether we are pursuing our passions in our free time or tackling challenging projects at work, we can actively seek out opportunities to enter a state of flow and maximize our productivity, creativity, and overall well-being.
