Letting go of attachment liberates us from ego constraints from "summary" of Detox Your Ego by Steven Sylvester

When we become attached to certain things or outcomes, we are essentially allowing our egos to take control. This attachment stems from a deep-seated fear of losing what we believe defines us or gives us value. We hold on tightly to these attachments, believing that they are essential to our identity and happiness. However, the truth is that this attachment only serves to create limitations and constraints on our lives. By letting go of these attachments, we free ourselves from the ego's grasp and open ourselves up to new possibilities and experiences. When we release our attachment to material possessions, relationships, or expectations, we are no longer bound by the need to control or possess them. We are able to move freely and fluidly through life, unencumbered by the constraints of the ego. In releasing our attachment, we also release ourselves from the constant need for validation and approval from others. We no longer seek external sources of validation to feel worthy or valuable. Instead, we find our worth and value from within, independent of external circumstances or opinions. Letting go of attachment allows us to live in the present moment, free from the worries and anxieties of the past or future. We are able to fully engage with the world around us, appreciating the beauty and joy that exists in each moment. We are no longer weighed down by regrets or fears, but instead, we are able to embrace each moment with a sense of lightness and freedom.
