To truly embrace the present without resistance means to fully accept whatever is happening in this moment without trying to change it or wishing it were different. It means letting go of our constant need to control and manipulate our experience, and instead simply allowing things to be as they are. This can be incredibly challenging, as our minds are constantly seeking to make things different than they are – whether that means trying to hold on to pleasant experiences or push away unpleasant ones. When we resist the present moment, we create suffering for ourselves. This resistance is like a wall that separates us from reality, causing us to be in a constant state of struggle and dissatisfaction.
