Acceptance is not always easy. It is not always the first choice or even the second. It is often the last resort, the final door to walk through when all other doors have been slammed shut. It is a quiet surrender, a gentle acknowledgment that things are as they are and cannot be changed. Acceptance is not about giving up or giving in, but about finding a way to make peace with what cannot be altered. When we resist acceptance, we are in a constant battle with reality. We are fighting against the tide, trying to swim upstream when the current is too strong. We are exhausting ourselves with the effort of trying to control the uncontrollable.
