Mindful awareness can break the cycle of automatic thoughts and behaviors from "summary" of You Are the Placebo by Dr. Joe Dispenza

When we operate on autopilot, we allow our subconscious mind to run the show. This means that our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are all being controlled by past experiences and learned patterns. As a result, we find ourselves reacting to situations in the same old ways, without even stopping to consider if there might be a different, more beneficial way to respond. Mindful awareness is the key to breaking this cycle of automatic thoughts and behaviors. By becoming more present and attentive to our inner world, we can begin to observe the patterns that are playing out in our minds. We can see the thoughts that are triggering certain emotions, which in turn lead to specific actions. And once we are aware of these patterns, we have the power to interrupt them. When we bring mindful awareness to our automatic thoughts and behaviors, we create a space for new possibilities to emerge. Instead of reacting out of habit, we can pause and choose a different response. We can ask ourselves if the thought we are having is really true, or if it is just a conditioned response based on past experiences. We can consider whether the emotion we are feeling is serving us, or if there might be a more empowering way to feel in this moment. By breaking the cycle of automatic thoughts and behaviors, we open ourselves up to the potential for growth and transformation. We no longer have to be limited by our past conditioning; instead, we can consciously choose how we want to think, feel, and act in any given situation. This shift in awareness allows us to step into our true power and create the life we desire.
