Vulnerability can lead to strength from "summary" of Wild (Oprah's Book Club 2.0 Digital Edition) by Cheryl Strayed

In my journey through the Pacific Crest Trail, I discovered that embracing vulnerability was the key to unlocking my inner strength. It was during my most challenging moments, when I allowed myself to be vulnerable and face my fears head-on, that I found the courage to keep going. At first, vulnerability felt like a weakness - a crack in my armor that left me exposed to pain and uncertainty. But as I continued on my journey, I realized that vulnerability was actually a source of power. It was through confronting my vulnerabilities that I was able to tap into a reservoir of resilience and determination that I never knew I had. When I opened myself up to the possibility of failure and rejection, I also opened myself up to the possibility of growth and transformation. I learned that true strength lies not in invulnerability, but in the willingness to be vulnerable and let ourselves be seen for who we truly are. By embracing vulnerability, I was able to connect with others on a deeper level and forge authentic relationships based on trust and mutual understanding. I discovered that vulnerability is not a sign of weakness, but a sign of courage and authenticity. It is through our vulnerabilities that we are able to show our true selves to the world and find the inner strength to face whatever challenges come our way.
