In the wilderness, I learned to accept imperfections. It was not an easy lesson to learn, but one that was essential for my survival. I had always strived for perfection, holding myself to impossibly high standards. But out in the wild, I quickly realized that I was far from perfect. I made mistakes, I stumbled, I faltered. And yet, I had to keep going. I had to keep moving forward, despite my imperfections. Accepting imperfections meant letting go of my need for control. I couldn't control the weather, the terrain, or the wildlife around me. All I could control was how I reacted to these challenges. I had to learn to adapt, to be flexible, to go with the flow.
