Let go of the idea of a perfect life from "summary" of The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck by Mark Manson

Life is not a Hollywood movie. It is not a fairy tale where everything falls into place perfectly, and everyone lives happily ever after. Real life is messy and chaotic. It is full of ups and downs, successes and failures, joys and sorrows. When we hold on to the idea of a perfect life, we set ourselves up for disappointment and frustration. We create unrealistic expectations for ourselves and others, and when these expectations are not met, we feel let down. We feel like we have failed in some way, that we are not living up to the standards we have set for ourselves. But the truth is, there is no such thing as a perfect life. Life is inherently imperfect. It is messy and unpredictable. There will always be challenges and obstacles to overcome, mistakes to be made, and lessons to be learned. And that is okay. When we let go of the idea of a perfect life, we free ourselves from the burden of trying to measure up to an unattainable standard. We allow ourselves to embrace our imperfections and flaws, to accept ourselves as we are, and to learn and grow from our experiences. By accepting the imperfect nature of life, we can focus on what truly matters to us, on what brings us joy and fulfillment. We can let go of the need to constantly strive for perfection and instead appreciate the beauty of life in all its messiness and imperfection. Life is not perfect, but it is beautiful in its own unique way.
