Avoiding judgment leads to freedom from "summary" of The Radical Acceptance of Everything by Ann Weiser Cornell

When we judge ourselves or others, we create a barrier that separates us from a sense of inner peace and connection. Judgment brings with it a sense of right and wrong, good and bad, which can be limiting and constricting. It creates a division within ourselves and with others, leading to feelings of separation and isolation. By avoiding judgment, we open ourselves up to a greater sense of freedom and acceptance. We allow ourselves to see things as they are, without the filter of our judgments clouding our perception. This shift in perspective can be transformative, allowing us to embrace the fullness of our experiences without trying to control or manipulate them. Avoiding judgment requires a willingness to let go of our preconceived notions and beliefs about ourselves and others. It involves a deep sense of curiosity and openness, allowing us to explore our experiences with a sense of wonder and acceptance. This attitude of non-judgment can lead to a greater sense of compassion and understanding towards ourselves and others. When we refrain from judging, we create space for growth and transformation. We allow ourselves to be vulnerable and authentic, without the need to hide or suppress parts of ourselves. This authenticity can be incredibly liberating, freeing us from the constraints of societal expectations and self-imposed limitations.
  1. Avoiding judgment opens the door to a deeper sense of connection and presence. It allows us to be fully engaged with the richness of our experiences, without the burden of judgment weighing us down. By embracing a stance of radical acceptance, we can cultivate a greater sense of freedom and peace within ourselves and in our relationships with others.
