Be confident in yourself and your abilities from "summary" of The Magic of Thinking Big by David J. Schwartz

Believe in yourself. Have faith in your abilities. Without a humble but reasonable confidence in your own powers you cannot be successful or happy. Don't let a low opinion of yourself color your world. Believe you can succeed and you will. Confidence is a magnet that attracts people. When you are sure of yourself, you send out a positive vibe that draws others to you. People respect and admire those who are sure of themselves, who know where they are going and what they want. Confidence is an essential quality for successful living. Without it, you are at the mercy of others. Your confidence increases when you have faith in your ability to succeed. The way to develop self-confidence is to do the thing you fear and get a record of successful experiences behind you. Once you have faith in your ability, you will have greater confidence. When you believe I-can-do-it, the how-to-do-it develops. Don't sell yourself short. Think big, believe big, act big, and the results will be big. Success is determined not so much by the size of one's brain as it is by the size of one's thinking. Think little goals and expect little achievements. Think big goals and win big success. Remember, success is something you experience when you act accordingly. Don't let the low confidence of others undermine your confidence. The only way others can hurt you is if you let them. Your confidence is a matter of choice. You can choose to be confident, or you can choose to let others dictate your confidence level. Be confident in yourself and your abilities, and you will achieve great things.
