Self 2 is the natural ability to perform without interference from "summary" of The Inner Game of Tennis (50th Anniversary Edition) by W. Timothy Gallwey

Self 2 is what I call the natural ability of a person to perform without interference. It is the part of us that can hit the ball most effectively on the tennis court, or do anything else in life with the greatest possible ease and effectiveness. Self 2 is the part of us that knows how to hit the ball over the net with the least amount of effort. It is the part of us that knows how to hit a serve without trying too hard. Self 2 is that part of us that knows how to move gracefully and effectively. It is the part of us that can trust our body to respond correctly to the demands of the game. Self 2 is the part of us that knows how to move in the most efficient and effective way possible. It is the part of us that can let go of all the unnecessary thoughts and doubts that can interfere with our performance. Self 2 is the part of us that knows how to perform at our best without getting in our own way. It is the part of us that can trust ourselves to do what we already know how to do. It is the part of us that can focus on the task at hand without being distracted by irrelevant thoughts. Self 2 is the part of us that can let go of all the self-doubt and worry that can interfere with our performance. Self 2 is the part of us that can trust our instincts and intuition to guide us in the right direction. It is the part of us that can let go of all the unnecessary mental chatter that can cloud our judgment. Self 2 is the part of us that can tap into our inner wisdom and knowledge without being hindered by self-criticism or fear. It is the part of us that can perform at our best without trying too hard.
