All phenomena are essentially empty and transient from "summary" of The Diamond Sutra (Chin-Kang-Ching) or Prajna-Paramita by Anonymous
Phenomena arise like dreams, fleeting and insubstantial. They manifest, then dissolve, revealing the nature of impermanence. The mind clings, seeking permanence in the ephemeral, yet all that is grasped slips away like water through fingers. This attachment leads to suffering, for what is held dear today may fade tomorrow. Consider the lotus blooming in the sun. Its beauty captivates, yet that very bloom is bound to wither. Each moment is born anew, only to pass into the past, illustrating the dance of existence. The wise see through this veil, recognizing that the essence of all things is not found in solid forms but in their transient nature. When one perceives the world with clarity, the distinction between self and other diminishes. This understanding cultivates a profound compassion, for all beings are caught in the same cycle of birth and decay. The realization of emptiness liberates the heart, allowing one to act without attachment or aversion. In this insight lies the path to enlightenment. By relinquishing the desire to possess, one becomes free. The void is not an absence but a space of potential, where true wisdom resides. In the stillness of this awareness, the interconnectedness of all life unfolds, revealing the profound truth that binds the universe. Thus, the sage moves through the world with grace, unperturbed by the dualities of gain and loss. Embracing the ephemeral, one finds peace amidst the chaos, embodying the realization that what is truly valuable transcends the fleeting forms of existence.Similar Posts
