Intelligence flourishes in a state of inner silence and stillness from "summary" of The Awakening of Intelligence by Jiddu Krishnamurti
Intelligence is not the mere accumulation of knowledge, but rather the capacity to perceive clearly, deeply, and directly. This kind of intelligence cannot be cultivated through the usual methods of education, with its emphasis on memorization and repetition. True intelligence requires a state of inner silence and stillness, where the mind is free from the constant chatter of thoughts and emotions. In this state of inner quiet, the mind becomes highly sensitive and alert. It is able to see things as they are, without distortion or bias. This kind of clarity is essential for true understanding and insight. When the mind is still, it is like a mirror that reflects reality as it is, without adding anything to it. In our modern world, there is a constant barrage of stimuli that bombard our senses and overload our minds. We are constantly bombarded with information, opinions, and distractions. This constant noise prevents us from accessing our inner intelligence, which can only flourish in a state of stillness. To cultivate this inner silence, we must learn to observe our thoughts and emotions without getting caught up in them. We must learn to simply watch them come and go, without judgment or attachment. This kind of detached observation is key to developing the kind of intelligence that can see beyond the surface of things. In this state of inner stillness, we are able to tap into a deeper source of wisdom and insight. We are able to see connections and patterns that are not apparent to the rational mind. This kind of intelligence is intuitive and creative, able to perceive the underlying unity of all things. When we are able to access this inner intelligence, we are able to navigate the complexities of life with grace and ease. We are able to solve problems creatively and make decisions with confidence. This kind of intelligence is not limited by time or space, but is eternal and universal.- True intelligence is not something that can be taught or learned. It is something that must be discovered within oneself, through a process of self-inquiry and self-awareness. It is only when we are able to quiet the mind and listen deeply within that we can access the infinite intelligence that lies at the core of our being.
