Motivations are not always clear from "summary" of Tell Me Everything by Erika Krouse

Motivations are a tricky thing. They're like those magic eye posters, where you have to stare at them for what feels like hours before you can finally make out the hidden image. Sometimes, motivations are crystal clear - like when you're starving and you eat a sandwich because you're hungry. But other times, they're more elusive - like when you find yourself inexplicably drawn to someone who is clearly bad news. In my experience, motivations are often a tangled mess of conflicting desires and impulses. It's like there's a committee in my brain, each member vying for control and trying to steer me in a different direction. One part of me wants to do the right thing, while another just wants to throw caution to the wind and see what happens. And then there's that sneaky little voice in the back of my mind, whispering things I know I shouldn't listen to but can't seem to ignore.
