Motivations are not always clear from "summary" of Tell Me Everything by Erika Krouse

Motivations are a tricky thing. They're like those magic eye posters, where you have to stare at them for what feels like hours before you can finally make out the hidden image. Sometimes, motivations are crystal clear - like when you're starving and you eat a sandwich because you're hungry. But other times, they're more elusive - like when you find yourself inexplicably drawn to someone who is clearly bad news. In my experience, motivations are often a tangled mess of conflicting desires and impulses. It's like there's a committee in my brain, each member vying for control and trying to steer me in a different direction. One part of me wants to do the right thing, while another just wants to throw caution to the wind and see what happens. And then there's that sneaky little voice in the back of my mind, whispering things I know I shouldn't listen to but can't seem to ignore. The problem is that motivations can be slippery creatures, constantly shifting and changing like shadows in the dark. What we think is driving us one moment can evaporate into thin air the next, leaving us feeling adrift and confused. It's like trying to catch a butterfly in a hurricane - just when you think you've got a hold on it, it slips through your fingers and flutters away. And let's not forget about the ways we deceive ourselves when it comes to our motivations. We tell ourselves stories, paint ourselves in a flattering light, and conveniently forget the less noble impulses that lurk beneath the surface. It's like we're all expert spin doctors, crafting elaborate justifications for our actions and conveniently ignoring the messy, inconvenient truths that lurk just out of sight. So yes, motivations are not always clear. In fact, they're often anything but. They're a labyrinth of hidden desires, conflicting impulses, and self-deception. And yet, despite their murky depths, we continue to search for meaning and understanding in them, knowing that the journey may be fraught with uncertainty and confusion.
