Prophet Elisha's miracles from "summary" of Stories of the Prophets by Ismāʻīl ibn ʻUmar Ibn Kathīr
Prophet Elisha, may peace be upon him, was a successor to the great Prophet Elijah. He was known for his many miracles, which displayed the power and mercy of Allah. One of his most famous miracles was the healing of the water in Jericho. The people of the city complained to Elisha that the water was unclean and caused miscarriages. In response, Elisha threw salt into the spring, purifying the water and making it safe to drink. This miracle not only solved the immediate problem of contaminated water but also demonstrated Elisha's connection to Allah and his ability to intervene in the natural world. Another remarkable miracle performed by Elisha involved feeding a hundred men with only twenty loaves of barley and some fresh ears of grain. When his servant questioned how such a small amount of food could possibly feed so many, Elisha assured him that Allah would provide. Miraculously, everyone was able to eat and there was even food left over. This miracle showcased Elisha's unwavering faith in Allah's provision and his ability to work miracles through divine intervention. In addition to his ability to heal the sick and provide for the hungry, Elisha also displayed power over the forces of nature. When the king of Israel sought his help in defeating the Moabites, Elisha instructed him to dig trenches in the valley. Despite there being no rain in sight, Elisha prophesied that the valley would be filled with water, allowing the Israelites and their livestock to drink. True to his word, a sudden flood came and fulfilled Elisha's prophecy, leading to victory over the Moabites.- The miracles of Prophet Elisha serve as a testament to his faith in Allah and his role as a powerful intermediary between the divine and the physical world. Through his extraordinary acts, he was able to demonstrate the mercy and power of Allah, as well as inspire others to trust in the divine will.
