Prophet Yusuf's dream from "summary" of Stories of the Prophets by Ismāʻīl ibn ʻUmar Ibn Kathīr

Prophet Yusuf, the son of Prophet Ya'qub, had a dream in which eleven stars, the sun, and the moon prostrated to him. Excited by this dream, Yusuf shared it with his father, Ya'qub. Ya'qub, being a prophet himself, immediately recognized the significance of the dream. He understood that the stars represented Yusuf's brothers, the sun symbolized him (Ya'qub), and the moon represented Yusuf's mother. Ya'qub cautioned Yusuf not to disclose the dream to his brothers, fearing that they might become envious and plot against him. However, Yusuf's brothers eventually learned of the dream and became jealous of him. They conspired to get rid of Yusuf, eventually deciding to throw him into a well. Yusuf's brothers then returned to their father, pretending that a wolf had attacked Yusuf and that he was now dead.
