The Stoic philosophy teaches us to confront the harsh realities of life head on, without flinching or turning away. One of the most powerful ways in which Stoicism does this is by prompting us to contemplate our own mortality. By acknowledging the fact that we are all mortal beings, with a limited amount of time on this earth, Stoicism encourages us to live our lives with purpose and intention. Reflecting on our own mortality can be a sobering experience, but it can also be incredibly liberating.
